About Cherry:

Cherry is a cute, redheaded, and rich cheerleader who stands up for what she believes in. She is smart and is a Soc, a gang of rich teens on the west side of town.

Cherry's involvment: 

Cherry attends the same school as Ponyboy and is best friends with Marcia. To Pony she is a "perfect Soc girlfriend" and she is until her boyfriend Bob is killed. Through Pony's relationship with her, he learns that the Soc's dont have it easy either. Cherry also challenges him to see that Socs and Greasers aren't as different as he thinks. Soon Cherry becomes a spy for the Greasers, with the intention of stopping the fighting and balancing the power between the groups.
